Description

ARISE combines complementary observations - infrasound technology, lidars, radars, ionospheric sounders and satellites - with modeling for a better description of the dynamics from the stratosphere to the lower thermosphere where observations are rare. The objective is to determine the effects of poorly resolved disturbances - such as sudden stratospheric warming events, gravity and planetary waves - on uncertainties in weather and climate models.
