- Full Text: The granting of rights is formalized in a license agreement or a depo-sit license. The copyright holders grant non-exclusive usage rights to the operators. Use of Creative Commons licenses is strongly recommended as they are the current de-facto standard. A deposit license is not necessary if the publication is under a free license that grants the necessary rights to the operator. These are mostly Open Definition-compliant licenses such as CC BY.
